November 2022 Coastal Seniors Update


FRIDAYS WITH FRIENDS – November 11th from 10 AM – Noon

Each “Fridays with Friends” program will be open from 10 AM until noon.  Coastal Seniors will welcome members, who are 50 years and older, to our office to participate in activities, such as: card games, board games, ping pong, bingo, art classes, exercise classes, etc. If you are interested in any of these activities, please let us know so that our volunteers can prepare. EXERCISE CLASSES FOR SENIORS at Padgett Park on J.D. Miller Rd. – Barbara Reynolds will teach Zumba Gold at 10:00 am on Wednesdays, Nov. 19,16,23 and 30th, Gentle Yoga at 11:00 am on Wednesdays, and Senior Pilates on Fridays at 10:00 am on Nov. 4 ,11, 18 and 25th.  Cost is $40 per 8-week session. HEALTHY AGING FAIR – Saturday, November 12th from 9 am – 1 pm – at South Walton High School – Coastal Seniors is partnering with area health organizations to showcase local resources and services available to Walton County seniors. The bloodmobile will be there and several food trucks will offer food and beverages. Volunteers are needed so contact CSSW by calling 850-280-5342, or by sending an email to:

ART CLASSES – Karen Peterson will teach seniors Beginner Watercolor Painting on Fridays – Nov 4th 1pm – 4pm, Nov 11th 9am-Noon and Nov. 18th 1pm – 4pm. Cost is $20 per session. PICKLEBALL – Beginner Pickleball 101 at Walton Sports Complex courts – Check the Coastal Seniors website calendar or Facebook page after Nov.10 for November dates and times, or contact Sandra Gulak at The public pickleball courts are now open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Walton County sports complex behind Dune Lakes Elementary School.  Please join the SoWal Pickleball Association on Facebook for more information and weekly updates.

COASTAL SENIORS and COASTAL BRANCH LIBRARY MOVIE – Join us at the Coastal Branch Library on Thursday, November 10th at 1 pm as Jim Wilson brings back monthly movies. Don’t miss a tribute to Angela Lansbury as we present the 1962 film THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE in which she plays an evil femme fatale alongside Frank Sinatra. Popcorn and drinks provided.
