Local Designers Select Art for Fresh Start at East End Gallery

East End Gallery welcomes the New Year with a little help from its friends- interior designer friends who carefully selected new art for the exhibit “Fresh Start,” which opened Jan. 21 and runs through April 26 at the boutique art space located next to Shades Bar & Grill in Inlet Beach.

Fresh Start features local and regional artists whose style of art enhances the home, thus helping designers and homeowners alike create the perfect fresh start to 2019. Carolyn Simmons, of 30a Interiors, Julie Liebetreu, of JLDesigns & Interiors, and Melissa Denton, of Home Design Group generously donated their time and talents as they handpicked 52 works from the 172 submissions the gallery received. Lori Drew, art manager for East End Gallery, said, “It’s simply amazing how this all came together. The interior designers had so many beautiful works to chose from as artists sent in images of their original work from all over the country. I am so grateful for these designers’ commitment to community.”

“Wow!” was all that Simmons had to say when she saw the installed art for the first time this week. As she got her first in-person look at the collection, she said she was already thinking of clients’ spaces where favorite pieces would be a perfect fit. “This is a unique art space,” explained Drew. “Our artists are connected to the Emerald Coast, many of whom have vacationed here. They want their art to also be a part of this special place.” She said about half of the 27 artists showcased in this quarterly rotation are locals and the other half live in seven other states.

The gallery is open 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturdays by appointment. It is located at 10952 E Co Hwy 30A, Suite B, Inlet Beach, sharing the same parking lot as Shades Bar & Grill. It also welcomes guests to Art After Hours on the first Friday of each month, from 4-7 p.m. for a fun and friendly open house with refreshments. For more information, contact Lori Drew at 850-252-5150 or lori@eastend30a. The gallery’s complete inventory can be found on www.eastend30a.com, but as Simmons says, “It looks so much better in person!”
